IT Security Support Analyst 📍 Harrisburg, PA (Hybrid - Minimum 2 Days Onsite Weekly) About the Opportunity The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PA PUC) is seeking an experienced IT Security Support Analyst to join its Information Technology team. This position serves as a critical resource supporting both the Information Security and Help Desk functions, providing technical support, security monitoring, incident management, vulnerability tracking, and end-user assistance across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys working across multiple technology disciplines, including desktop support, cybersecurity, Microsoft technologies, and network operations. Key Responsibilities Information Security Support Assist with monitoring, documenting, and managing security incidents and vulnerabilities. Review and analyze security logs, reports, and system alerts. Support vulnerability management activities using security assessment tools. Assist in ensuring compliance with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements. Participate in network monitoring and security reporting activities. Support cybersecurity investigations and remediation efforts. Help Desk & Technical Support Respond to and resolve technical support requests in a timely manner. Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues. Support Microsoft Windows workstations and server environments. Provide support for Microsoft 365 applications and services. Document issues, resolutions, and procedures within ticketing systems. Deliver exceptional customer service to internal users. Collaboration & Documentation Work closely with Security, Infrastructure, and Support teams. Maintain accurate technical documentation and incident records. Escalate complex issues when necessary and follow through to resolution. Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in Information Security-related support Minimum 2 years of Help Desk or Technical Support experience Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server and Workstation Operating Systems Experience with Microsoft 365 (O365) products and services Experience using incident reporting and support ticketing systems Experience with network and computer security testing tools Experience reviewing and interpreting security logs and reports Experience working with Splunk and Tenable Associate Degree in Information Technology or equivalent technical certifications Preferred Qualifications Experience in government, public sector, or regulated environments Security+, Network+, CySA+, Microsoft, or similar certifications Knowledge of vulnerability management and cybersecurity best practices Familiarity with enterprise IT operations and infrastructure support Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Technical Skills Microsoft Windows Server Windows 10/11 Microsoft 365 (O365) Active Directory Splunk Tenable Help Desk & Ticketing Systems Incident Management Vulnerability Management Security Monitoring Network Troubleshooting Technical Documentation
