JOB TITLE: Refill Specialist
SUPERVISOR: Director of Clinical Operations
HOURS PER WEEK: 40hrs/Non-Exempt (Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm)

HIRING BONUS: $1000 after 90 days
PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position supports the Providers and support staff by utilizing Epic protocols to approve and stage refill requests received either electronic or MyChart.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
1. Assist with TPC refill program including process metric performance tracking. *
2. Perform medication refills in accordance with program policies and refill protocol. *
3. Utilizing Epic protocols to accurately approve or stage medications for refills.
4. Contact patients, pharmacies, or providers for medication discrepancies, changes, or clarifications prior to refilling.
5. Understand how to process high risk and controlled substances with accuracy and within scope.
6. Understand how to process, submit and complete escalated medication refills. *
7. Meet deadlines for completion of assigned tasks. *
8. Assess and schedule patients to meet TPC refill guidelines for annual visits.
9. Participate in process improvement and changes. *
10. Attend work regularly as scheduled. *
11. Participate as an active team member in a patient-centered medical home.
12. Employees will not be discourteous or disrespectful to a customer or any member of the public while in the course and scope of company business. *
13. Work in a cooperative manner with management/supervision, coworkers, customers and vendors. *
14. Abide by company policies. *
15. Other duties as assigned. *
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate from an Accredited Medical Assistant Program and hold nationally approved Medical Assistant Certification, OR Oregon Pharmacy Technician License, OR Registered Medical Technologist, ASCP certification
High School Diploma or equivalent
Current CPR Certification
PREFERENCES:
1-2 Years Clinical MA Experience
Must have strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology.
Strong ability to correctly read and interpret prescription terminology and medications.
Skill in proper documentation within an Electronic Medical Record
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with physicians, patients, and co-workers.
Must be flexible and able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects at one time.
Ability to demonstrate initiative and ability to function independently.
Strong experience with Windows, Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
