Job Description Hiring: Janitorial SupervisorWe are seeking a qualified individual to work on-site as a Janitorial Supervisor supporting daily operations at a VA medical facility. This role combines hands-on janitorial duties with supervisory responsibilities , ensuring all cleaning services are performed in accordance with contract requirements.The Role As a Janitorial Supervisor , you will be responsible for overseeing janitorial staff while also actively performing cleaning duties. You will ensure daily operations run smoothly, maintain cleanliness standards, and support the team by working alongside them when needed.This is an on-site, hands-on role requiring both leadership and active participation in cleaning tasks.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise and manage janitorial staff during daily operationsPerform janitorial cleaning duties alongside staff as requiredEnsure all cleaning tasks meet medical facility standardsCoordinate daily work schedules and staff assignmentsEnsure minimum staffing levels are maintained at all timesConduct routine inspections of facility cleanlinessRespond to spills, urgent cleaning needs, and service callsClean and maintain restrooms, floors, offices, and common areasOperate cleaning equipment (vacuums, mops, floor machines, etc.)Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and suppliesMonitor inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishmentEnsure compliance with safety, infection control, and OSHA standardsMaintain logs, reports, and required documentationServe as the primary on-site point of contactEnsure all personnel follow facility rules and security proceduresReport incidents, damages, or safety concernsREQUIREMENTS Minimum 1 year of medical facility cleaning experiencePrior supervisory or team lead experience preferredAbility to perform physical janitorial work dailyKnowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and safety standardsAbility to manage staff and maintain workflowStrong communication and organizational skillsMust be able to follow contract requirements and proceduresMust speak and read English fluentlyMust maintain professional appearance and wear approved uniformMust complete required training (infection control, safety, etc.)Must meet access requirements for a federal facilityMust pass required health screenings (TB test, vaccinations, etc.)ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS This is a working supervisor role (not desk-based)Must actively participate in cleaning duties dailyMust remain on-site during assigned work hoursMust ensure compliance with all facility and federal regulationsMust ensure proper handling of medical and hazardous wasteMust maintain a clean, safe, and professional environmentPowered by JazzHR
