Fishbeck is actively seeking a creative and talented Civil Engineer to join our Saginaw office and support municipal clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of municipal projects from design through construction, helping improve essential infrastructure for local communities.
We're looking for an experienced engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment, demonstrates strong technical and communication skills, and is committed to delivering high-quality work.
What You'll Do
Plan and design water main, sanitary and storm sewer, and road projects for local municipalities.
Perform design calculations, quantify bid items, develop cost estimates, execute CAD drafting, and prepare reports.
Develop project-specific technical specifications, standard construction drawings, and Maintenance of Traffic plans.
Assist with bidding and construction phase services, including RFIs, shop drawing reviews, and as-built drawings.
Collaborate with technical staff across Fishbeck offices to provide consulting engineering services for municipalities, universities, and local development clients.
Engage daily with project teams in a multi-discipline and multi-office environment.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
0-2+ years of experience in municipal infrastructure design (water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and road/transportation projects)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software
Ability to assist with construction observation, field measurements, and quantity documentation
Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively with PMs and senior staff
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Interest in continuous learning and professional development (including PE track)
Valid driver's license
Ability to travel to project and client sites as needed

Minimum Physical Requirements
Normal office working conditions with occasional lifting and carrying. Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods. Capable of traveling to and maneuvering around project sites for meetings and observations. Visual acuity and ability to use technical equipment for communication and documentation are essential.
