Job Title: Meter Backflow TechnicianSalary: $19.41 – $33.01 per hourSchedule: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, with overtime including evenings, weekends, and emergency responsesOverview:Join our team as a Meter Backflow Technician, performing installation, maintenance, and testing of water meters and backflow devices to ensure safe, compliant water systems. Your work helps protect community drinking water and supports infrastructure integrity.Key Responsibilities:Install, maintain, and test water meters and backflow preventers.Inspect facilities for illegal cross connections; address and remove them.Document work for compliance and reporting.Operate trucks and equipment safely; maintain tools and inventory.Ensure safety by setting up work zones and directing traffic as needed.Required Skills:Knowledge of water meter and backflow device installation, testing, and repair.Ability to work independently, follow safety protocols, and interpret instructions.Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and work in confined spaces or outdoor conditions.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Nice to Have Skills:Utility maintenance or plumbing experience.CDL certification (if operating certain vehicles).Experience with underground or construction work.Other Requirements:Durable utility pants and safety shoes required.Pass background check and drug screening.Work outdoors in varied weather; respond to emergencies outside regular hours.If you're ready to make a real impact in water safety and public service, apply now and become part of a dedicated team committed to community health and infrastructure!
