The ideal candidate will be local to Chicago and comfortable with an in-person work setup, particularly during the initial phase of joining. Key Responsibilities:Financial Strategy & Leadership: Working in coordination with Senior Leadership, develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business goals. Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.Group Financial Statements: Oversee the preparation and analysis of consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS and US GAAP. Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and transparency in reporting.Tax & Financial Structuring: Design and optimize business structures to enhance tax efficiency and financial reporting advantages both domestically and internationally. Stay updated on tax regulations and compliance requirements.Finance Department Development: Support the initial build-out of the Finance Department. Recruit, train, and mentor finance staff to build a high-performing team.Crypto & Trading Industry Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of the crypto and trading industries to inform financial strategies and operational decisions. Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes.Operational Efficiency: Implement financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and support business growth. Identify and address financial risks and opportunities.Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial performance and strategy to the executive team, board of directors, and other key stakeholders. Provide insights and recommendations to drive strategic decision-making.QualificationsLocal to Chicago: Candidates must be based in Chicago (or hybrid at least 3 days / week) and willing to work from the office, especially during the initial onboarding phase.Certified Public Accountant (CPA): A CPA designation is preferred, with experience in group financial statements and familiarity with IFRS and US GAAP preparation. Experience and work with both financial as well as prudential reporting desired.Business Structuring & Taxation: Proven experience in designing business structures and operations to enhance tax and financial reporting advantages, both in the US and internationally.Crypto Industry Experience: Experience in the crypto and trading industries is highly desirable.
