The successful candidate will foster creativity, inspire a love of art, and provide a structured, inclusive classroom environment that supports student engagement and learning.Primary Responsibilities:Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate art instruction aligned with district curriculum and standardsFoster students' artistic skills, creativity, self-expression, and appreciation of the visual artsEstablish and maintain a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment using effective classroom management practicesPromote student engagement and uphold school policies and proceduresAssess student learning and use data to inform instructionCommunicate effectively with students, families, and colleaguesCollaborate with faculty and staff to support student successSupport school and district initiatives related to instruction and student developmentEngage with community resources, as appropriate, to enhance student learning experiencesQualifications:Bachelor's degree required; degree in Art Education or related field preferredValid Connecticut teaching certification in Art (PK12) preferredExperience working with elementary and/or middle school students preferredCandidates must meet all district requirements for substitute teachersWorking Conditions:Salisbury Central School is a PK8 elementary school located in rural Northwest Connecticut and is part of the Region One School District.
