Accounts Receivable Specialist
Overview
Coin and Professional Equipment Company (C-PEC) is a distributor of commercial laundry equipment for the states of Arizona and New Mexico. C-PEC offers new equipment sales, parts, installation and service support of commercial laundry equipment. C-PEC serves industries such as public laundromats, multi-housing properties, assisted living facilities, the hospitality industry, and others.
C-PEC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team. This role is essential in managing the company's receivables, ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial software. Experience with various accounting software platforms like QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Spire and familiarity with receivables functions are highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment that values accuracy, efficiency, and excellent customer service.
The Accounts Receivable position is responsible for supporting the Senior Accountant by performing the essential duties and responsibilities listed below. Additional responsibilities may be added. The position is carried out in C-PEC’s Phoenix office Monday through Friday from 7:50 am to 4:30 pm. This is not a work remote position.
Responsibilities
Record daily cash receipts
Perform daily cash deposit reconciliations
Record customer payments
Manage C-PEC’s route accounting
Prepare journal entries
Contact customers regarding past due balances
Assist with the monthly close process
Audit customer accounts for credit balances
Review new customer accounts
Audit customer accounts for proper sales tax configuration
Apply financing charges to past due accounts
Print, mail and email customer statements
Assist with the monthly reconciliation of assigned accounts
Assist with the closing of work orders and invoicing
Generate and distribute customer statements
Assist in the annual preparation of 1099’s and other year-end processes
Other duties as assigned

Ability to analyze, organize, summarize, and articulate financial information
Significant experience with Windows operating system
Proficient in Microsoft Excel with significant prior workplace use. Most of the functions of the position utilize Excel.
Proficient in Word and Outlook
Able to learn Spire, CPEC’s accounting software quickly
Proficiency in accounting principles
Understanding of debits and credits and how to apply to various general ledger accounts
