Balance Staffing is seeking an experienced Steel Detailing Manager for a well-established structural steel fabrication company in Oakdale, CA. This is a direct hire opportunity with a stable and reputable company offering long-term growth and leadership opportunities.Position SummaryThe Steel Detailing Manager will oversee and lead the detailing department, ensuring all drawings and BIM coordination meet project specifications, fabrication requirements, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong structural steel detailing experience combined with proven leadership skills in a fabrication environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and support detailers and BIM staffReview and approve shop drawings for accuracy, quality, and constructabilityEnsure all drawings comply with AISC standards and AWS codesCoordinate with project managers, engineers, fabrication teams, and field operationsMaintain project schedules and ensure deadlines are metSupport fabrication and erection processes through effective detailing practicesImprove detailing workflows, team efficiency, and overall department performanceResolve drawing discrepancies and provide technical support as neededQualifications5–10 years of structural steel detailing experience requiredPrevious experience as a BIM Manager or Detailing Manager preferredStrong understanding of steel fabrication and erection standardsExperience leading or managing a teamKnowledge of AISC standards and AWS welding codesTekla Structures experience highly preferredStrong communication, leadership, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentBenefitsCompetitive salary based on experienceStable Monday–Friday scheduleDirect hire opportunityGrowth potential with a well-established companySupportive and experienced team environment
