The Technical Sales Support Specialist provides strong support to the sales / execution and field service teams where needed, assisting with the successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and completion of projects undertaken by the SMS Valparaiso plant.
Duties and Responsibilities
Act as assistant to the Project Manager(s)
Assist as a point of contact for servicing orders
Process customer requests for quotations and orders in accordance with pre-determined company metrics and procedures
Communicate with the customer to ensure accuracy, and prepare and send final quotations
Enter sales orders into Global Shop Solutions (GSS) with accuracy, managing the project to completion, working directly with customers/vendors/contractors and colleagues
Assist the inventory team with cycle counts and inventory discrepancies
Occasionally assist the logistics team
Perform other duties as assigned or requested
Business travel up to 10%
Job Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent technical education and experience preferred, BUT, we will train the right individual!
Ability to interpret blueprints/drawings for the purpose of order quotation and accuracy preferred but not required
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or previous sales support experience is a plus
Strong written, verbal and customer service skills required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to routinely write reports and correspond with customers
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
Experience with an ERP system is preferred, but not required

The noise level in the work environment usually is moderate.
Schedule
Full-Time, 8-hour shift
Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, with 30 minutes for lunch
