Managing Director - Head of US business for International Recruitment and Search firm dedicated to the Private Equity Industry 📍 Tampa, FL (Hybrid)💰 Competitive Base Salary + Bonus + Significant Long-Term UpsideA high-growth, private equity-focused headhunting firm is seeking a Managing Director to lead and scale its US platform from an established Tampa hub.The business operates at the intersection of Private Equity, CFO & Senior Finance recruitment, and high-growth technology and tech-enabled services. Following a successful US launch and strong commercial performance, the firm is now looking for an entrepreneurial leader to take ownership of the US operation and drive the next phase of expansion.The OpportunityThis is a genuine build-and-lead mandate with responsibility for:• Leading and growing an established Tampa-based team of approximately six consultants• Expanding the platform to 10–12+ recruiters over the next 12–18 months• Driving growth across CFO and senior finance mandates within PE-backed and investor-led businesses• Partnering directly with founders and senior leadership to build a market-leading US franchiseThis is not a maintenance role. It is an opportunity to shape strategy, scale a team, and create significant value within a specialist, high-growth search business.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Growth• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing recruitment team• Establish best-in-class standards across delivery, search methodology and client experience• Recruit, retain and develop top recruitment talent• Foster a high-performance, collaborative cultureCommercial & P&L Ownership• Take ownership of US revenue and profitability• Drive NFI growth, productivity and margin improvement• Increase penetration of retained and search-led mandates• Report performance and strategic progress to global leadershipClient Development• Build and deepen relationships with:Mid-market and upper mid-market private equity fundsCFOs, CEOs and senior finance leaders within portfolio companiesOperating partners and investment professionals• Develop and execute a scalable go-to-market strategy• Lead major pitches, mandate negotiations and strategic account developmentStrategy & Platform Development• Shape the future growth strategy of the US business• Identify opportunities for sector, functional and geographic expansion• Embed a consistent, search-grade delivery model• Contribute to the broader group’s long-term growth and investment ambitionsIdeal ProfileExperience• Significant experience within CFO, senior finance or adjacent executive recruitment markets focussed on working Private Equity clients and their portfolio firms• Strong track record working with private equity-backed businesses, portfolio companies and investment firms• Experience recruiting within high-growth technology, SaaS or tech-enabled services environments is highly desirableLeadership & Commercial Capability• Proven success building and scaling recruitment desks and have management experience in a recruitment setting• Strong understanding of P&L management, headcount growth and productivity metrics• Demonstrable track record of winning and delivering retained or search-led assignments• Consistent personal billings at the upper end of the marketStyle & Mindset• Player-coach mentality with a passion for both billing and leadership• Entrepreneurial, growth-oriented and comfortable operating within a scaling business• Commercially ambitious while maintaining high levels of integrity and professionalism• Credible operating with senior executives, investors and PE stakeholdersWhat’s on Offer?✔ Full ownership of a proven but still early-stage US platform✔ Significant earning potential through personal billings and team performance✔ Potential long-term incentive participation as the group continues to scale✔ Direct partnership with experienced founders and leadership✔ A highly attractive niche focused on PE-backed CFO and senior finance search✔ Opportunity to build a market-leading franchise in a high-growth sectorInterested in a confidential discussion?
