Overview In this role you will oversee financial operations for a California-based real estate business and support reporting for a privately held property portfolio. You will partner with ownership, ensure books are accurate, manage AP/AR, payroll via Paycom, and deliver monthly statements and cash flow forecasts. You will strengthen internal controls and identify practical process improvements to support growth. This position offers hands-on accounting with strategic analysis, shaping how the portfolio is managed. ResponsibilitiesOversee daily accounting activities across the business, ensuring records are complete and accurateManage full accounts payable and accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, payments, collections, and balancingReview, code, and reconcile credit card activity; complete monthly bank reconciliationsProduce monthly financial statements and reporting packages for leadershipPrepare weekly cash flow reporting and forecasts for liquidity monitoring and planningAdminister payroll through Paycom and coordinate benefits/retirement activities with external partnersPrepare annual 1099 filings and liaise with tax advisors with required documentationTrack and report financial activity tied to real estate investments and property holdingsStrengthen workflows and internal controls by identifying and implementing improvements Key requirementsexperienced Controller with deep commercial real estate accounting knowledgehighly organized and detail-oriented with sound judgment and discretionability to balance routine operations with analysis and reportingexperience with real estate investments and property portfoliosfamiliarity with payroll processing and external partner coordinationability to coordinate with external tax advisors for 1099 filingsstrong cross-functional collaboration skillshighly organizeddetail-orienteddiscretionaccounts payable/receivable managementbank reconciliationspreparation of monthly financial statements
