Technical Advisor (Modernization Lead)
The Modernization Lead is responsible for collecting and providing information for supporting enterprise-wide modernization of network, transport, cybersecurity, and C4ISR related systems. This role supports technical planning, systems engineering, architectural development, and cross stakeholder coordination to ensure solutions support organizational goals and operational priorities. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with a consulting mindset—capable of diagnosing organizational challenges, identifying modernization opportunities, and developing solutions that improve operational tempo, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency.This position is located in Chesapeake, VA. This is an on-site role, with some remote options available.Job DescriptionLead modernization planning and architectural development for networks, cybersecurity, transport systems, and information sharing or C4ISR related capabilities across enterprise or operational environments to be relayed to the Government customerDevelop technical roadmaps aligned with organizational priorities, mission needs, and long-term modernization strategiesTranslate operational or business requirements into technical specifications, system designs, and integration strategiesGuide decisions related to data transport, cloud migration, hybrid architectures, network hardening, and secure information sharing solutionsCoordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment across engineering, operations, IT, and program teamsEnsure technical designs comply with applicable DoW standards, organizational policies, and cybersecurity frameworksOversee system integration, testing, configuration management, and risk identification/mitigation effortsLead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams in support of modernization activitiesMaintain awareness of emerging technologies and assess their applicability to improving readiness, resilience, and operational performanceConduct interoperability assessments and ensure alignment across related systems and enterprise architecturesServe as the contract team’s stakeholder in meetings with the engineering team, providing critical insight into operational realities and potential constraints, helping to shape systems as they are developedHelp oversee all modernization actions taken by StratasCorp’s operational team, including shipboard network upgrades, Network Operations Center (NOC) cloud migration, and the introduction of new technology or processes to increase the efficiency and accuracy of StratasCorp’s technical effortsWill be expected to contribute to special projects and company corporate taskingJob Requirements Active Secret ClearanceBachelors DegreeIAM II Certification such asCAP (Certified Authorization Professional)CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner)CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)The anticipated salary range for this role is $120,000 to $130,000 annually. The anticipated salary range for this position is provided in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws.
