Business Development - Nuclear Sales

Tetra Tech is expanding its U.S. commercial nuclear and small modular reactor (SMR) business and is seeking an experienced sales and business development professional to help drive that growth.This role focuses on hands-on selling, opportunity development, and closing work, supported by Tetra Tech’s deep nuclear engineering and licensing expertise. Success depends on active client engagement and close coordination with internal technical and delivery teams. The scope is senior but highly engaged—neither a pure executive rainmaker position nor a junior sales role—and requires comfort operating across both external client interactions and internal collaboration.This role is deliberately level-flexible and may be filled by:A proven Director-level seller, orA strong Senior Manager /Sales professional ready to step into broader revenue responsibilityWhy This Is a Compelling OpportunityAbility to grow with the role without being over-scoped on day oneEntrepreneurial mandate backed by Tetra Tech’s balance sheet and deep nuclear engineering expertiseAccess to a strong technical bench in nuclear engineering and licensingExposure to both existing fleet support and SMR deployment workClear commercial accountability without unrealistic rainmaker expectationsCompetitive compensation with performance-based incentivesThe Assignment:Build, manage, and mature a qualified sales pipeline with U.S. nuclear utilities and SMR / advanced reactor developersConvert opportunities into booked engineering, licensing, and regulatory services workGrow assigned accounts through repeat engagements and expanding scope over timeCarry clear bookings and revenue accountability, scaled appropriately to levelWhat You Will Do Day-to-DayOriginate and shape opportunities—often ahead of formal RFPs—while also winning competitive pursuitsEngage utility engineering leaders, licensing managers, project directors, and, when appropriate, executive stakeholdersTranslate technical capabilities into clear, compelling commercial value propositionsLead capture planning, proposal strategy, pricing input, and negotiation supportMaintain ownership of key client relationships through award and early delivery phasesSuccess Measures:Bookings and revenue vs. targetsPipeline quality and conversionPriority pursuit win rateAccount growth (utilities & SMRs)Client satisfaction and repeat workIdeal Candidate ProfileMust Haves:7–12+ years in sales, business development, or client-facing roles within the U.S. commercial nuclear industryProven experience selling engineering, licensing, regulatory, or technical services (not products)Working knowledge of U.S. commercial nuclear operations and NRC licensing pathwaysExisting relationships at the manager, director, or VP level within nuclear utilities or SMR developersAbility to independently manage pursuits from qualification through contract awardStrongly PreferredExperience supporting license renewal, life extension, new nuclear, or SMR programsExposure to advanced reactor developers or emerging nuclear technologiesFamiliarity with utility procurement and contracting processesEngineering background; advanced degree is a plusTetra Tech offers comprehensive benefit options that allow employees to design a plan based on individual needs and assists in planning for long-term financial security.
