*Description*Technical Project ManagerOverviewWe are looking for a Technical Project Managerto support our Systems Engineering team, which includes Network, Endpoint, and IAM teams. This role is ideal for a highly organized, pragmatic operator who enjoys working closely with engineers, improving how workflows through Jira, and helping teams deliver on what they commit to-without forcing textbook Scrum where it doesn't fit.Team ContextSystems Engineering consists of ~10 people, including 7 engineersThree functional teams:Network, Endpoint, and IAMShared Jira backlog with separate boards per teamAll teams operate on the same2 week sprint cadencewith daily standupsWhat You'll DoSprint & Ceremony OwnershipDrive sprint planning, daily standups, and sprint hygiene across all three teamsEnsure sprint commitments are realistic, well-defined, and visibleHold teams accountable to the work they commit to within the sprintJira Execution & HygieneActively manage and work with the team to clean up Jira backlogs (editing tickets, fields, structure)Help standardize how epics, tasks, and issues are written and organizedCoach engineers to own their work in Jira, stepping in directly when neededEnsure issues entering a sprint meet basic quality standards (clear scope, ownership, intent)Delivery Visibility & ReportingEnsure the work being reported to leadership through Jira dashboards meets the needs of leadershipEnsure work is tracked accurately so delivery can be reported with confidencePartner with leadership to reduce time spent "in the sprint view" and improve high-level visibilityTeam EnablementWork with engineers who have varying levels of comfort managing work in JiraBe firm but fair: supportive of engineers, while setting clear expectationsEscalate delivery risks and missed commitments to leadership when appropriateHow the Role Is Expected to GrowOver time, this role will evolve beyond execution into improvement and guidance:Improve how epics and tasks are written, scoped, and acceptedHelp teams better understand how much work to bring into a sprintIntroduce lightweight effort tracking (initially hours-based) to reduce overcommittingHelp define what "successful" sprints look like, with a focus on completing themost importantworkTranslate team roadmaps into sprint-ready work in partnership with leadsGradually influence sprint priorities based on roadmap alignment and capacity*Additional Skills & Qualifications*Work is 100% remote but working EST hours*Experience Level*Intermediate Level*Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Arlington, VA.*Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
