This approach trains students to use the Socratic Method and inquiry approach to learning while leveraging their unique skills and talents equitably and democratically to create a positive culture where all students can find success.Minimum Qualifications:Must hold a valid Delaware Teaching License and Certificate in the required content area in accordance with 14 Del. C. § 1531 or be actively enrolled and participating in a State of Delaware ARTC program in the required content area.Must commit to consistently attend, meet requirements and complete the approved ARTC program within the program timeframe.Successful completion of ACTFL exam in Greek language (Superior level).Experience teaching Greek as a foreign/second language in a 6-12 immersion or foreign language program preferred.Secondary education teaching experience preferred.Experience teaching students with diverse needs.Proven commitment to global citizenship and collaborative mindset.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Effectively Teach all students (Greek language, theatre, history, geography, art).Proven ability to grow as an educator, specifically in Language Immersion Models and Curriculum and Second-Language Acquisition Techniques.Effectively collaborate with all partner teachers, staff, and parents.Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.Co-lesson-plan with partner teachers, including content transfer lessons in an immersion setting, if needed.Proven ability to effectively execute the day-to-day operations of the classroom, including engaging differentiated instruction, lesson planning, conducting student assessments, classroom management, holding all students accountable, consistent parent communication, etc.Plan and execute a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students.Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of all students.Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor or an adminstrator.Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis, provide reports as required, and notify parents of student progress as necessary.Assess the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as required.Take all necessary and reasonable safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, school policy/best practices, and administrative regulation.Perform other duties as assigned.Standard RequirementsFavorable Criminal Background CheckFavorable Child Abuse Registry CheckTuberculin TestMandatory Direct Deposit of paycheckImportant Application InformationInterested applicants must apply online and upload:Letter of interestResumeProof of certificationMost recent job evaluationThree professional references (supervisors or managers)For assistance with the application process or to request a paper application, please contact the OCS Human Resources Team at 302-516-8000.Application ProceduresInternal Candidates:Qualified applicants must complete an online application or submit a current resume with license/certification information.
