This role includes monitoring student progress, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with families and staff to support student success.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSPrepare and organize gymnasium and equipment for daily instruction and school-year readinessDevelop and implement engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans that meet diverse student needsCreate a safe, structured, and inclusive environment that supports student developmentTeach physical skills, movement patterns, fitness concepts, and health-related topicsDemonstrate activities and support students in skill developmentEstablish and enforce clear expectations for behavior and safetySupervise students in the gym, playground, cafeteria, and school groundsConduct fitness assessments and monitor student progressMaintain accurate student records, including progress reports and report cardsCommunicate effectively with students, families, and staffParticipate in parent-teacher conferences and provide progress updatesCollaborate with specialists to support students with IEPs and 504 plansPlan and coordinate school events such as Field Day and wellness activitiesMaintain and monitor equipment, materials, and facilitiesParticipate in school-wide initiatives, committees, and required trainingsPrepare substitute lesson plans and maintain continuity of instructionSupport school safety procedures, including drills and emergency protocolsAssist with Early Childhood supervision and other school needs as requiredParticipate in community engagement and fitness-related initiatives as appropriate EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in Physical Education or related fieldBilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferredExperience working with elementary and/or middle school students preferred REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSCurrent Wisconsin Teaching License (or ability to obtain)Maintain all required certifications and trainings, including bloodborne pathogens KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESStrong knowledge of physical education curriculum and instructional strategiesUnderstanding of diverse learning styles and student abilitiesAbility to differentiate instruction and adapt activities to meet student needsEffective classroom and behavior management skillsStrong communication skills with students, families, and staffAbility to problem-solve and respond effectively to dynamic situationsAbility to maintain a positive, flexible, and professional demeanorBasic proficiency with technology and educational software BENEFITS401(k) + matchingDental insuranceEmployee discountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceTuition reimbursementVision insuranceChildcare JOIN OUR TEAM
