This is a full-time position located at Columbus High School in Columbus, WI.One of the classes that this position will teach is Cooperative Sports, which is a highly inclusive, unified course intentionally designed to be a lifelong recreation and functional fitness class taught in an inclusive environment where everyone's unique abilities are celebrated. Must enjoy working with students with all ability levels; experience working with special populations is a bonus for this position.About Columbus High SchoolColumbus High School is committed to providing a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for all students. We are looking for a passionate educator who will inspire students to explore health, wellness, and physical activity through dynamic instruction, movement-based learning, and a supportive classroom environment.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:Teaching a range of high school Health and Physical Education courses, which may expand all grade levels and abilities from our beginning freshman to our advanced upperclassmen.Developing and implementing engaging, standards-aligned curriculum and lesson plans focused on physical fitness, healthy lifestyle choices, and relevant health topics.Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.Assessing student progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.Collaborating with the Physical Education/Health department and other faculty members to enhance the overall educational experience.Supervising student activities, clubs, or co-curricular programs as needed (e.g., coaching, intramurals).Attending and participating in professional development opportunities and faculty meetingsCommunicating effectively with parents/guardians regarding student performance and classroom activities.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Health Education, Physical Education, or Kinesiology/Exercise Science or a related field.Valid Wisconsin teaching license in Health Education and/or Physical Education (or eligibility to obtain one).Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in health and physical education instruction and classroom management.Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Experience with integrating fitness technology and diverse instructional methods in the classroom is preferred.
