Senior System Engineer
Robert Half Technology is partnering with an established manufacturing organization to identify a Senior Systems Administrator who will play a critical role in managing and modernizing the company's technology infrastructure.This is a highly visible position offering the opportunity to work directly with IT leadership while taking ownership of enterprise infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, networking, virtualization, and end-user support. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a hands-on environment where no two days are the same and is comfortable supporting everything from desktop issues to enterprise infrastructure initiatives.If you're looking for a role where you can make a meaningful impact, influence technology decisions, and help drive modernization efforts, we'd like to speak with you.ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure AdministrationAdminister and maintain Windows Server environments.Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and print services.Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and Azure.Manage VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualization environments.Maintain storage infrastructure, backup solutions, and disaster recovery processes.Plan and execute server upgrades, patching, migrations, and lifecycle management.Cloud & Microsoft TechnologiesManage Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud services.Administer cloud identity, licensing, security, and access management.Monitor cloud services for availability, security, and performance.Support cloud migration and infrastructure modernization initiatives.Recommend technologies that improve operational efficiency and business continuity.Network AdministrationConfigure and maintain firewalls, switches, routers, wireless infrastructure, and VPN connectivity.Support multiple office locations and network infrastructure.Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.Coordinate with internet service providers and third-party technology vendors.Security & ComplianceAdminister Microsoft Defender and endpoint security solutions.Manage Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Conditional Access policies.Monitor security alerts and assist with incident response.Perform vulnerability remediation and infrastructure hardening.Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity documentation.Technical Support & OperationsServe as the highest level of escalation for infrastructure and technical issues.Support executive leadership and critical business operations.Manage user accounts, permissions, licensing, and device lifecycle.Provide Tier I and Tier II support while also managing enterprise-level infrastructure projects.Projects & Process ImprovementLead infrastructure implementations, upgrades, migrations, and enterprise technology projects.Evaluate hardware and software solutions.Develop automation using PowerShell and Microsoft technologies.Maintain technical documentation, knowledge bases, and standard operating procedures.Recommend continuous improvements that increase reliability, security, and operational efficiency.LeadershipMentor junior IT staff and provide technical guidance.Partner with IT leadership on infrastructure planning and technology initiatives.Participate in occasional after-hours maintenance and emergency support.QualificationsRequired Qualifications5+ years of Systems Administration experience.Strong Windows Server administration.Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and Azure.Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.VMware and/or Hyper-V.Veeam Backup & Replication.Microsoft Defender, Multi-Factor Authentication, and Conditional Access.Network administration including firewalls, switches, VPNs, and wireless technologies.PowerShell scripting and automation.Experience supporting multi-site environments.Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with SAN/NAS storage.Cisco, Fortinet, SonicWall, or Ubiquiti networking.Microsoft Graph and REST APIs.Enterprise infrastructure modernization.Manufacturing or industrial industry experience.Compensation & Work EnvironmentSalary: Up to $130,000, depending on experience.Location: Colton, California.Schedule: Monday through Friday with flexible start times.Work Arrangement: 100% onsite.Occasional after-hours support for maintenance and critical issues.Why Join This Opportunity?Highly visible position with direct exposure to executive leadership.Opportunity to influence infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and technology strategy.Broad technical responsibilities with exposure to every area of IT.Stable and growing organization investing in technology modernization.Opportunity to build long-term career growth while making a measurable impact.Apply TodayIf you're an experienced Systems Administrator looking for an opportunity to take ownership of enterprise infrastructure while helping drive technology transformation, we'd love to hear from you.
