Primary PurposeThe Oracle Cloud Application Developer IV is responsible for designing and developing complex, scalable applications and integrations that support Oracle HCM Cloud and related platforms. This position drives innovation and influences technology strategy, mentoring and fostering a high-performance culture, while providing technical leadership and guiding the team in best practices and emerging technologies. The Oracle Cloud Application Developer IV will be called upon to provide guidance and project direction to all levels of USF IT support groups as well as other team members on the development team, and will serve as an expert resource within USF IT and USF Business Partners on the functionality of their assigned system(s).Salary: $115,000 - $121,000Shift Hours: 8AM - 5PMWork Schedule: Monday - FridayResponsibilitiesBased on business needs, the Oracle Cloud Application Developer IV will develop and support solutions using the Oracle HCM platform for critical university-wide processes. This includes advanced and comprehensive knowledge that deliver value to functional/business units, establishing data integration models and methods, leveraging delivered features to support business outcomes, and configuring custom workflows.Develops and maintains integrations within Oracle HCM Cloud, leveraging BICC, OIC, CIF, Oracle APEX (Application Express), and other integration tools to support business and technical objectives. Creates technical designs for complex projects, bridging high-level architecture and implementation details. Implements integration patterns and architectural principles to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability of Oracle HCM-related solutions. Develops and optimizes complex software components, ensuring seamless data flow between Oracle HCM Cloud and third-party systems. Facilitates technical design discussions and code reviews, providing strategic insights and innovative solutions. Adapts integration solutions to accommodate vendor-driven changes.Develops and oversees deployment strategies, minimizing downtime and risks, ensuring smooth integration of data-driven applications and ETL/ELT frameworks. Develops and oversees the release process, coordinating with Product Owners/Program Managers to ensure successful deployments. Implements advanced CI/CD practices, ensuring rapid and reliable releases. Coordinates with DevOps and other teams to optimize the deployment pipeline.Develops comprehensive documentation for integration workflows, data mappings, and technical specifications. Establishes best practices for API documentation and integration reference materials. Implements automation tools to improve documentation efficiency and accuracy. Guides teams in adopting new tools or practices to improve documentation quality and accessibility.Mentors and coaches the development team in integration best practices and Oracle HCM Cloud. Plays a key role in succession planning and talent development, identifying and nurturing future leaders. Leads cross functional teams in developing and sharing best practices, fostering collaboration.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training, and five years of IT related work experience, OR a Bachelor's degree with no specific required field and six years of IT related work experience, OR a Master's degree and four years of IT related work experience, OR a combination of nine years of IT related work experience and validated training. Preparation for a relevant IT certification is considered to be related training. Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.• Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S. • SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements • A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of direct experience required, not to exceed: • (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree; • (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree; • (c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree; • (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or • (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree • Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment. • Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesSystem Design and Integration: Expertise in designing and integrating complex IT systems, particularly within the specific ecosystem (e.g., Oracle HCM Cloud).Oracle Tools and Technologies: Familiarity with various Oracle tools and technologies, such as Oracle APEX, Oracle E-Business Suite, or Oracle Cloud services, depending on the specific role and project requirements. Monitors and optimizes BICC, OIC, and CIF integrations, identifying and addressing performance issues.Technical Proficiency: Mastery of relevant technologies, programming languages, and tools specific to Oracle HCM system.Soft SkillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of Agile Framework.Analytical thinking, attention to detail, time management, and teamwork.Industry KnowledgeExperience with organization-wide implementation of Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as PeopleSoft or Oracle HCM.Oracle HCM Cloud certification (OIC and OCI)Expertise in writing complex SQLs.Acts as a subject matter expert for Oracle HCM integrations providing advanced support and troubleshooting.IT CompetenciesGrowth Mindset: Takes ownership of personal growth and embraces the concept that intelligence and talent can be developed through continuous learning.
