You’ll gain experience with a variety of challenges all while you enable life-changing, life-saving therapeutics to the patients who need them.The IT Systems Engineer II is responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved this by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. They will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.Essential Responsibilities:Perform network and server administration functions, including configuring, installing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and operating systemsAnalyze network and system resource utilization and implements solutions to correct problems to ensure all applications are accessible and functioning properlyIdentify and recommend appropriate changes to infrastructure to improve performance, reliability, and availabilityMaintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security for SOC 2 and ISO complianceBuild, maintain, and manage physical and virtual infrastructureProactively manage and troubleshoot storage environment, including capacity planning/availability, quotas, and snapshots to optimize performancePerform systems engineering activities in all phases of a project; this includes but is not limited to discovery, designing, building, testing, and deploymentResearch and evaluates all network and server hardware and software options and upgrades; this includes but is not limited to updates, patches, and service packs, as neededProvides Tier 3 support to IT Support SpecialistsSupports and executes updates to servers, network, and storage devicesCommunicate with internal customers as required; this includes but is not limited to keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outagesAdminister company Azure and AWS Environments including configuration and creation of servers, storage, and networksAdditional Responsibilities:Completes assigned tasks and projects effectively, completely, and on timeOther duties as assignedMinimum Preferred Qualifications:Education:Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, a related field, or equivalent work experienceExperience:Not less than five (5) years’ experience in systems and network administration, preferably in a regulated laboratory or research organizationNot less than five (5) years’ experience supporting and managing a corporate IT system, including but not limited to: Active Directory, virtualized infrastructure, backup systems, network architecture, data room management, and cloud-based platformsNot less than five (5) years’ experience supporting and managing corporate Azure and AWS environments including but not limited to: virtualized infrastructure, network architecture, and cloud-based platformsNot less than five (5) years’ experience providing end-user support and desktop engineeringKnowledge of Azure AD, Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365, Scripting/Power Shell, Azure, AWS, and other Microsoft and third-party enterprise technologiesKnowledge of Windows Server 2012 through 2025 Operating SystemsKnowledge of Network protocols including DHCP, DNS, IP routing, VLANs and performance metricsKnowledge of ITIL Service Support and Delivery best practicesSkills:Knowledge and experience within the Microsoft stack of applications and platformsDemonstrated knowledge of server configurations: RAID, SAN, networking protocols, IIS, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, VPN technologies, firewalls, and security certificatesDemonstrated network knowledge: WAN, LAN, VPN, VLAN, Route and Switch, Firewalls, ACLs, Spanning TreeDemonstrated of knowledge of Microsoft Group Policy and Distributed File System practicesDemonstrated ability in diagnosing and remedying critical server-related problems and failures promptly and effectivelyDemonstrated knowledge of hyper converged infrastructure and networking componentsKnowledge of in/out of band managementPreferred Credentials:Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate or higherAmazon AWS SysOps Administrator or higherKnowledge of and experience with Part 11/Annex 11, GAMP, GDPR, and NIST 800-53Supervisor Responsibility:This position has no supervisory responsibilitiesSupervision Received:Receives direction regarding prioritization and approval of proposed technical solutionsWorks independently to resolve issues following established SOPs and best practicesFrequently exercises discretionary authorityWorking Environment:Primarily officeOccasional laboratory/clinical environmentRoutinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinetsWork requires occasional travel (up to 10%)Physical Demands:Ability to work in an upright and /or stationary position for up to eight (8) hours per dayRepetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate office equipmentFrequent mobility neededFrequent crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neckLight to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including computer equipment, with a maximum lift of 50 poundsAbility to access and use a variety of computer softwareAbility to communicate information and ideas so others will understand;
