Board Treasurer – Indigenous Roots Productions (IRP)The Treasurer is a voting member of the Board responsible for IRP's financial oversight and compliance. This is a working volunteer role requiring consistent engagement.Core Responsibilities (Monthly–Quarterly Duties)Maintain and update IRP's financial records, including income tracking and expense logsPrepare quarterly financial reports for board meetingsSupport the annual budget, financial review, and reporting requirementsAssist with identifying funding opportunities and preparing basic financial documentation for grantsEnsure adherence to nonprofit accounting standards and ethical financial practicesTime Commitment3–5 hours per month, including one quarterly board meetingAdditional coordination during budgeting or grant cyclesQualificationsExperience with budgeting, bookkeeping, accounting, or nonprofit financial management preferredStrong organizational skills and attention to detailCommitment to IRP's mission and values of Indigenous sovereignty, ethical research, and community-centered storytellingImpactThis role ensures IRP's transparency, compliance, and long-term sustainability as the organization grows across multiple regions and projects.
