RNs are supported through telemetry and ACLS certifications.Cardiopulmonary Care Step Down Unit: Fast paced stepdown unit dedicated to the Cardiopulmonary patient population including pneumonia sepsis, Afib, NSTEMI, and advanced heart failure. RNs are supported through telemetry and ACLS certifications.Cardiac Medical Stepdown Unit (CMSU): is a small stepdown unit which takes patients requiring close monitoring and includes interventions like BIPAP, titrating cardiac drips, high acuity sepsis and surgical patients. This is a great place to start your nursing career or continue your professional growth.Job Summary:The Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient statusActing as the service line between Med-Surg and ICU unitsDetermining the priority of the patient's problems and needsDeveloping and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomesEnsuring a safe and therapeutic environmentEssential Functions:Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care teamConducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectivenessServes as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departmentsActs as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the departmentAdminister medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization's policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedEducation:* Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)Certifications:* Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)* Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (preferred, not required)Experience:* 1 year of RN experience (required)* 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)As a Bon Secours Mercy Health associate, you're part of a Mission that matters.
