Material Handler - 1st Shift
Material Handler PositionProvides support in the areas of shipping, receiving, inventory control and may include moving and transporting raw materials and finished goods throughout the manufacturing facility.

Safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts (sit-down and stand-up), pallet jacks, high-reach trucks, and reel movers to transport heavy cable reels, spools, pallets, and raw materials.
Load, unload, and move raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to appropriate warehouse storage or production areas.
Ensure timely supply of materials to production lines, using RF scanning devices to process requests.
Perform accurate cycle counts, maintain inventory records, locate materials using RF scanners or inventory software, and report shortages or quality issues to supervision.
Prepare and kit materials required for upcoming production work orders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to production.
Organize and maintain warehouse and production storage areas for efficient space utilization and FIFO (First In, First Out) material rotation.
Assist with loading and unloading trucks for incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods shipments.
Keep work areas clean and organized using 6S standards to support a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.
Obey all safety rules, use caution in work activities, and continuously practice safe behaviors.
Immediately report unsafe conditions/behaviors and work-related injuries to site supervision.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED
Demonstrated hands-on experience working in a material handler capacity and/or in warehouse environment
Cable and wire experience a plus
Proficient reading comprehension skills in English to understand written information on packaging, contents, handling specifications and instructions, bills of lading, MSDS sheets, and other pertinent information
Skilled in operating electric sit down fork trucks, electric (or gas) stand-up, hand or reach trucks and pallet jacks in a warehouse environment to move stock and reorganize storage
Ability to operate vehicle equipment in tight and/or congested areas
Knowledge and familiarity using a variety of hand tools
Aware of proper storage and product placement in the warehouse
Skilled in lifting heavy box materials and objects
Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision and as a team member
Focus on customer service and quality
Accurately performs multiple operational tasks assigned within the facility
Physical DemandsAbility to stand for long periods of time
Frequent bending, stooping, moving within the plant to move product and materials daily
Lifting, carrying, moving, and reaching to maneuver a minimum of 50 lbs of materials, product, boxes, cartons, packages in the facility
Move within facility to inside office locations and/or warehouse areas, to loading dock areas, including outdoors throughout all seasons
