Release ManagerLong term contract (6 months + extensions)100% Remote/WFHTeam based in Chicago, IL (CST)Job Description:Release Engineering will oversee the entire release lifecycle that takes a feature from initial idea to adoption by our customers in production for a specific set of applications. This role will work with Product Development, Engineering and key stakeholders across a specific set of applications to ensure on-time delivery and coordinate cross-departmental readiness for brand partners, business stakeholders, sales, marketing, implementation, training, and support.Essential Functions(Describe, in order of importance, the primary duties and/or responsibilities to be performed, methods used, and why. Statement should include WHAT, HOW, and WHY)Iterate on existing release processes and tools to improve release cadences in support of business demandsConduct Release Readiness reviews and Business Go/No-Go ReviewsMeasure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and with great qualityProactively manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, reliability, and stabilityProvide contextual judgment and use data to drive tough decisionsMonitor and provide regular release health status reports to executive leadership teamCommunicate status of releases, and any changes in plan/scope effectively across all cross functional groupsEnsure quality, compliance, and privacy standards are upheld cross-functionallyBe a vocal advocate for our customers' experiencesPassionate about building an excellent software release engineering processPassionate about leveraging automation to improve test coverage and reduce time to marketResponsible for partnering and contributing to the CI/CD maturity journey of the engineering organizationMake iterative improvements to blameless incident management processes, root cause analyses, outage prevention, and service recovery strategies across the engineering organizationPartner closely with Development, Security, Quality, Operations and Product teams to achieve high priority security, privacy, compliance, reliability and business-continuity objectives on our overall roadmapKnowledge(List the types of knowledge needed to perform the job (understanding of business theories or industry standards, specific software, etc.)
