Acting as a subject matter expert, this role collaborates with clients, project managers, engineers, and design teams to transform creative visions into technically robust solutions that meet or exceed client expectations. The AVC Systems Designer ensures all systems are innovative, elegant, and grounded in rigorous engineering standards while managing project scope, budget, and schedule. In addition to technical leadership, this position mentors' junior staff, drives process improvements, and upholds TechMDinc's commitment to excellence and storytelling through technology.Primary Responsibilities:Project LeadershipServe as subject matter lead for assigned projectsInterface with clients to gather requirements and align on project goalsPrepare cost estimates and scope documentation for proposalsAdvise Scheduling on resource needs based on project timelinesLead internal meetings, assign tasks, and monitor progressEnsure deliverables meet TechMDinc standards and client requirementsMaintain project financial health and budget complianceManage client communications regarding scope and scheduleIdentify out-of-scope requests and coordinate change orders with ManagementProvide regular project status updates in internal management toolsPrepare agendas and lead client meetings and design reviewsSystems DesignCreate or oversee design and engineering documentation: wiring diagrams, block diagrams, location plans, mounting details, equipment schedules, technical narratives, and O&M manualsDevelop or review design elements such as audio coverage maps, video projection maps, and control system requirementsCollaborate with CAD teams to populate BIM models with 3D Revit familiesWork with Engineering to evaluate and specify equipment for each applicationReview technical documentation for assembly, use, and maintenanceDocument and review design requirements, tolerances, and evaluate materials and partsProduction, Procurement & IntegrationCoordinate production tasks with Procurement, Production Engineering, and Production ManagementApprove equipment selections to initiate procurementLead factory acceptance testing and oversee field installation/integrationSupervise installers and subcontractors onsitePerform equipment configuration, site acceptance testing, and calibrationExecute speaker tuning, video display calibration, DSP file development, and show control programmingDevelop user interfaces and support media installation and mixingTrain end-users on system operation and maintenanceClient SupportAct as subject matter expert for installed systemsRespond to warranty and technical support inquiries as neededProcess & Team DevelopmentLead after-action reviews to identify improvement opportunitiesSupport professional development of assigned employees through evaluationsMentor and train junior staff in design and engineering workflowsContribute to company design, engineering, and documentation standardsPropose and implement process improvements across the organizationStay current with emerging technologies and industry best practicesOther Responsibilities:Perform other responsibilities as defined by the TechMDinc Design & Engineering TeamsPlease Note: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
