OverviewBenaroya Research Institute (BRI) is a leading nonprofit research institute dedicated to advancing precision medicine through translational and clinical research. In collaboration with clinical partners at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, BRI conducts a robust cancer clinical research program supporting innovative therapies and improving patient outcomes.The Cancer Clinical Research program supports over 100 active studies annually across a wide range of disease areas, including bladder, blood, brain, colorectal, gynecologic, hepatobiliary, neuroendocrine, pancreatic and prostate. Trials are sponsored by the National Cancer Institute and industry partners, and include investigations in chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted treatments, diagnostics, and quality-of-life interventions.This position works in close collaboration with clinical teams to support high-quality, patient-centered research. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (30-minute lunch); may vary based on study needs. Hybrid work may be allowed occasionally depending on workload, research patient schedule, and job performance.ResponsibilitiesSupport Clinical Research Coordinators with daily study activities and protocol executionPerform a wide range of administrative tasks related to clinical research (50-70% of role)Assist with study start-up processes and regulatory document filingMaintain centralized data repositories (e.g., test article information, CVs, lab normal ranges)Schedule study participants and manage visit logisticsComplete and maintain case report forms (CRFs)Manage laboratory kit inventory and suppliesUpload and manage documents in systems such as OneNet or Study Management SitesSubmit medical imaging and procedure data (CT, MRI, ultrasound, EKG, etc.) through secure portalsTransport test articles from pharmacy to study participants as neededPerform clinical tasks (30-50% of role), including blood draws, vital signs, and EKGsRecruit, screen, and schedule study participantsProcess, handle, and aliquot biological samplesInteract with study participants, including administering questionnaires and assisting with specialized testing (e.g., neurology assessments)Provide backup support to coordinators as needed QualificationsHigh school diploma requiredStrong computer, organizational, written, and communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsPrior experience in healthcare or clinical research preferredCompensation$22.55 to $31.34 hourlyBenefitsMedical, dental, vision insuranceFlexible spending accounts: health care, dependent care, commuterShort and long-term disabilityLife and AD&D insurance403(b) retirement plan with matching funds after one year of employmentPTO: 13 holidays, three weeks of vacation and two weeks of sick leave per yearEmployee assistance programEducational assistance programSubsidized ORCA passWellness benefitsVoluntary benefitsAbout UsThe Clinical Research Program at Benaroya Research Institute (BRI) works together with clinicians at Virginia Mason Medical Center to bring clinical research opportunities to patients, giving them access to clinical trials for over 100 different conditions including cancer, digestive disease, cardiology, and neuroscience.
