With deep expertise across food, beverage, and nutrition, our teams develop high-quality taste solutions that inspire innovation and elevate everyday experiences.Your Role in Synergy's SuccessThe Analytical Chemistry Intern's primary responsibility will be to support analytical testing of volatile components in foods, beverages, flavors, extracts, and essences. The role will also assist in the development and validation of analytical methods used for this testing. The intern will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Research & Development, Quality Control, and Operations, providing broad exposure to the product development and testing workflow. A foundational knowledge of laboratory and analytical concepts gained through coursework in chemistry, food science, or a related discipline is required.How You Will ContributeRoles and Responsibilities:Perform analytical testing of volatile compounds under supervision using techniques such as GC-FID/MSAssist in the development, optimization, and validation of analytical test methodsConduct laboratory experiments following established procedures and guidance from the manager or mentorCompile, organize, and analyze experimental dataPrepare summaries and contribute to technical reports as neededCommunicate findings to the R&D team and other stakeholders in a clear, concise mannerMaintain accurate records of laboratory activities, materials, methods, and resultsFollow laboratory safety procedures and good laboratory practices (GLP)Required Skills and Experience:Actively pursuing a BS degree in Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific disciplinePrevious laboratory coursework or hands-on lab experience (academic or industry); prior exposure to analytical instrumentation such as GC-FID/MS is a plusBasic understanding of laboratory terminology, analytical equipment, and scientific methodologyStrong problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn new technical skillsAbility to manage time effectively and contribute to multiple tasks or projects as neededDemonstrated attention to detail, organization, and accuracy in experimental workPositive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentEffective verbal and written communication skillsOur Commitment to our PeopleWe are a diverse and growing workforce of over 1,000 people across eight countries globally.
