Lead Software Engineer

We're partnering with a venture-backed fintech startup building an AI-native platform. This role will focus on building a greenfield platform that combines modern full-stack software with LLM-powered agents and intelligent workflows to deliver a more personalized, proactive wealth management experience. We're looking for a full stack engineer who can own meaningful pieces of the product end-to-end and help shape both the application architecture and the AI capabilities at its core.What You'll Do:Design and build production applications across the full stack.Develop modern user experiences using React and TypeScript.Build scalable backend services and APIs primarily in Python.Design data models and work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.Build and integrate LLM-powered agents, agentic workflows, and AI-driven product capabilities.Work with technologies such as RAG, tool calling, retrieval systems, and agent orchestration.Own technical decisions from initial architecture through production deployment.Partner closely with product and business stakeholders to understand the "why" behind what you're building.Help establish engineering standards around architecture, testing, reliability, and maintainability.Contribute in a highly collaborative, early-stage environment where engineers have significant influence over the product.What We're Looking For:8+ years of professional software engineering experience.Strong full-stack engineering background with experience owning products end-to-end.Hands-on experience with Python and modern backend/API development.Strong experience with React, TypeScript, or modern JavaScript.Experience designing APIs, data models, and scalable application architectures.Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications, AI agents, RAG systems, or agentic workflows.Product-oriented mindset and comfort working in an ambiguous, fast-moving startup environment.Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs and collaborate closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Nice to Have:Experience with FastAPI, .NET/C#, PostgreSQL, or AWS.Experience with agent frameworks such as LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, Anthropic SDK, Pydantic AI, or similar.Experience with LLM evaluation, observability, retrieval, or tool-use architectures.Previous fintech, wealth management, banking, or financial-services experience.Startup or 0→1 product-building experience.
