Quality Inspector
Summary:This position is responsible for completing inspection of products to ensure that all shipments comply with the customer's conformity specification, the company's quality control systems, and legal requirements.Duties and Responsibilities:Inspect product to determine compliance with order specifications and company's quality control system for compliance with legal requirements, and shipping and packing facilities for conformity to specified standardsSetup and perform conventional surface plate inspectionDocument inspection results accurately and in a timely mannerCommunicate inspection results and status to Manufacturing and Engineering as applicableGenerate ideas and suggestions on reducing inspection turnaround timePerform Hardness and Conductivity inspectionsExamine company's records to secure such information as size and weight of product and results of quality testsComplete visual inspectionVerify machine finishStamp mark of approval or rejection on product and write report of examinations. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.High school diploma or GED preferred2+ years of manufacturing or quality experience preferredIndustry experience preferredUS Citizen or Permanent Resident required (ITAR compliance)Blueprint and specification interpretation competence requiredExperience with mechanical and configuration hardware such as fasteners, brackets, wire forms, seals, connectors, requiredMechanical inspection skills including use of calipers, micrometers, optical comparator, thread gauges, and Hardness tester etc.requiredAbility to perform vendor test, material and conformance certification package reviews requiredExperience with First Article & Layout Inspection preferredExperience with Surface Plate Inspection preferredBasic computer skills including spreadsheets, word processing, internet research, and e-mail requiredDemonstrated ability to work in a team environment with little supervision requiredSense of urgency requiredAbility to meet frequent short timeline goals and deadlines required
