Inspector/CMM Operator
CMM Inspection Program OperatorResponsible for the operation of CMM inspection programs within the Quality Department. This position is also responsible for ensuring procedures are followed, resolving quality related issues with our customers and employees, the generation of reports, the tracking of data, and the recommendation of process improvements in a fast-paced environment by performing the following duties.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSets up and runs CMM programs for the purpose of verifying machined parts to the engineering requirements.Performs inspections both CMM and bench as needed.Reviews job related material, processes documentation, and confirms accuracy and completeness.Completes AS9102 first article inspection reports from CMM results into Net Inspect.Works with all departments to improve quality of products.Assists production in the translation of results.Maintains CMM and CMM room cleanliness.Performs additional duties as directed by quality manager and quality vice president.Maintains documentation and control of non-conformance product if required.Performs other similar or related duties as necessary.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.CMM operation and/or machine shop inspectionBlueprint reading and interpretationGD&T experienceNCR creationEach employee will be trained to perform Rockwell and Conductivity prior to physically beginning work in inspectionEach employee will be trained on FAI'sEach employee will be trained on PMC's NCR systemRockwell hardness and conductivity equipmentHeight gages and precision measuring equipmentEye and hearing protection may be necessary while working on the shop floorThree to five years' experience operating CMMs, Nikon Camio and PCDMIS software experience preferredProgramming experience preferred but not requiredDemonstrated skills in reading and interpreting blueprint and/or technical drawings proficientlyWorking knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and TolerancingAbility to complete inspections to ensure parts are within required tolerancesThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
