#26-0429Position SummaryAnderson, Indiana, USA Job DescriptionResponsible for Cost Accounting and Budgeting. Focus is on Inventory, Standard Costs, Manufacturing, Intercompany Purchases and department budgets.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAssists in developing and maintaining standard costs for all inventory items; performs new item cost roll-ups, ensuring accurate bills of materials and work center rates.Maintains accurate inventory records and participates in semi-annual physical inventories.Performs monthly inventory reconciliation of general ledger to JDE Cardex detail.Performs monthly in-transit inventory reconciliation for products coming from Japan and China.Provides management with spending, scrap and variance analysis (materials, labor and overhead).Participates in annual budgeting process and monthly actual to budget spending report to department managers.Creates journal entries, including recurring and reversing entries related to intercompany transactions and balance confirmation.Performs work order manufacturing and variance accounting transaction throughout the month, and particularly at month-end to ensure accurate cutoff of transactions into the JDE general ledger.Assists in month-end closing process as needed including transmission of all financial transaction to NTNUSA for consolidation purposes and completion of the STRAVIS reporting package to NTN Japan.Completes monthly account reconciliations as assigned and general ledger analysis including intercompany balancing.Assists in preparation of financial reporting packages for internal and corporate managers.Prepares audit support for E&Y as assigned by Controller.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsSkills and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with five years of relevant experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.Ability to prepare documentation and present to management.Strong computer and math skills, experience with Microsoft Office. Proficient in Microsoft Excel (lookups, sorting, filtering, and pivot tables, etc.)Knowledge of JDE (Oracle) MRP/ERP system a plus.Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work well cross-functionally and communicate with internal and external parties.Ability to organize, plan, allocate resources and prioritize to meet multiple overlapping and competing deadlines and strict timelines.Strong problem-solving skills including ability to collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions and recommend effective corrective action.Strict attention to safety.Previous experience in automotive manufacturing or in a multi-cultural environment a plus.
