Senior Python Developer – Database Automation & Cloud SecurityJob SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Python Developer with 7–8+ years of hands-on Python development experience and a strong background in Linux, shell scripting, database technologies, cloud architecture, automation, security, and audit logging. The ideal candidate will have experience working across both on-premises and cloud environments, with a strong understanding of database activity monitoring, entitlements, security controls, and audit requirements.
This role requires a technically strong individual who can work across development, database, cloud, and security teams while effectively communicating with both technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain solutions using Python for automation, monitoring, data processing, and security-related initiatives.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts and automation solutions in Linux/Unix environments.
- Work with on-premises database technologies, including:
- Oracle
- SQL Server / MSSQL
- PostgreSQL
- Support database automation and develop solutions for database monitoring, administration, and operational processes.
- Work with AWS and Azure cloud architectures, including cloud-based logging, event management, and monitoring.
- Develop and support solutions involving event logging, activity monitoring, and audit logging across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Understand how applications, databases, and cloud technologies integrate with security frameworks and controls.
- Analyze and identify user entitlements, permissions, roles, and access levels across various database technologies.
- Support security and compliance initiatives by providing visibility into database activity, access, and audit trails.
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, database, cloud, and application development teams to implement automation and monitoring solutions.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and help improve the reliability, security, and efficiency of existing processes.
- Participate throughout the project lifecycle, from requirements and design through development, testing, implementation, and production support.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 7–8+ years of professional Python development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python scripting and automation.
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix and shell scripting.
- Hands-on experience with database technologies and database automation.
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- Oracle
- SQL Server
- MSSQL
- PostgreSQL
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud architecture.
- Understanding of cloud event logging, application logging, and activity monitoring.
- Understanding of security controls, database access, entitlements, and permissions.
- Knowledge of audit logging and database activity monitoring.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple technical teams and maintain strong project relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating Python automation with database and cloud platforms.
- Experience with security, compliance, audit, or access-management initiatives.
- Familiarity with cloud-native monitoring and logging services.
- Experience working in large enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated strong project tenure and ability to own projects through completion.
- Experience collaborating with security, database, infrastructure, and cloud engineering teams.
