Machine Operator 2nd Shift
Manufacturing MachinistThis position is responsible for the operation of machinery, equipment, and tooling required in the manufacturing of piston rings.Essential functions and responsibilities include:Using quality standards to ensure set-ups are done correctly and operating machinery at an acceptable rate, ensuring that the machinery runs within process control parameters while practicing safety compliance at all times.Following SPC chart measurements requirements while operating the machinery in order to produce product that meets with strict design and quality standards.Following work instructions to determine the proper method of performing quality work.Performing unskilled maintenance as required.Stacking, marking, packing, and transporting finished work pieces.Recording data on employee time/job card in the computer.Maintaining work area in a neat and organized manner.Notifying team leader or supervisor of any mechanical or material issues/shortages and recommending production efficiency and quality improvements to supervisor.Immediately reporting incidents and accidents in the work area.Following applicable safety and environmental rules and regulations and participating/establishing an environment and culture that promotes safety in the workplace.Attending and contributing to department and company meetings.Participating in continuous improvement education/training programs to maintain current technology and methodology as specified by management.Performing other duties as assigned.Work environment:This job operates within a plant environment subject to indoor factory conditions; heated in winter and non-air conditioned in summer.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. May have to transfer product from one building to another.Requirements:We expect all team members to exhibit our guiding principles, all day, every day respect, dedication, integrity, teamwork, and positivity.High school diploma or GED is required.Minimum of one-year factory or equivalent experience is preferred in metal forming, machining, or operation of machines.Position involves standing, walking, and lifting for periods of time throughout the day.Willingness to work various shifts and overtime as needed.Fluent in English with comprehensive speaking, writing, spelling skills.Must be able to perform basic math.Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Physical demands:Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds routinely and be physically capable of full range of motion as required to perform all tasks and functions as listed above.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use corrected vision, talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms above, at, and below the waist. The position rarely involves sitting. This position will include walking long distances, moving about in a work area with bending, twisting, turning, and reaching throughout the day.
