Pultrusion Machine Operator - 2nd shift

Job Title**THIS IS A SECOND SHIFT POSITION: Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm** Training expected to take place on 1st shift for 6-8 weeks, then will move to 2nd shiftSummaryUsing automated and manual processes, resins, various fiberglass roving, fabrics and other materials to produce round tubes and shapes to quality and productivity standards.Essential FunctionsMaintains manual production records.Performs various mixtures of resins, roving splices, cloth splices and set-ups using measuring and dispensing tools.Maintains tooling records.Locates and pulls tooling and materials for processing.Move materials to designated staging and storage areas to support production.Maintains all necessary tests that are done at specified times and responsible to check all physical and visual tolerances set for the product.Responsible for all necessary processing information to be passed on to the next operator before leaving shift.Performs random cycle counts to assure inventory accuracy.Conducts equipment inspections and cleaning.Maintains clean and safe work environment in assigned areas.Takes direction from supervisor; when necessary, direction is communicated through shift lead.Continuous learning and demonstration of knowledge in order to achieve increasing operator levels (from trainee up to Level 4).Complies with and adheres to applicable ISO standards, safety, and work rules and requirementsPerforms other duties as assignedPhysical RequirementsWork primarily in factory setting (non-air conditioned)Continuous walking, as many as 10,000 steps per shiftAbility to tolerate chemical odors that can be strong at timesAbility to stand for long periods of timeMust wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Steadiness of hand and arm requiredFine motor skills to handle various objects and materialsAbility to use hands to manipulate or assemble objectsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds at a timeRequired Education, Experience and QualificationsPrior experience, work-related skill, or knowledge preferred; mechanical knowledge gained from working on machines or vehicles is especially helpfulDemonstrate close attention to detailEffective interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work well with othersAbility to complete assigned tasksMust learn essential functions of the job using the training records as a guideHigh School Diploma preferredOther DutiesThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
