Welding Instructor / CTE TeacherLocation:** Little Cypress-Mauriceville High SchoolDepartment:** Career and Technical Education (CTE) - Welding / ManufacturingReports To:** Campus Principal and CTE Director**Primary Purpose**Provide students with engaging, industry-aligned welding instruction and learning experiences designed to help them reach their full potential intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially. The Welding Instructor will equip students with foundational and advanced welding skills, safety knowledge, and career readiness competencies necessary for successful entry into the workforce, technical training programs, or postsecondary education in the welding and manufacturing industries.**Qualifications****Education / Certification** Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate Career and Technical Education (CTE) endorsements in Welding, Manufacturing, or Industrial Technology Industry welding certifications (e.g., AWS or equivalent) preferred**Special Knowledge / Skills** Strong knowledge of welding processes including SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW Knowledge of welding safety standards, shop safety procedures, and equipment maintenance Familiarity with blueprint reading, metallurgy basics, fabrication techniques, and welding inspection practices Ability to design hands-on learning experiences and laboratory-based instruction Strong classroom management and student engagement skills Ability to integrate industry technology and equipment into instruction Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills**Experience** At least one year of student teaching or an approved internship Welding industry experience preferredMajor Responsibilities and Duties**Instructional Strategies** Develop and implement welding curriculum aligned with district goals, Career and Technical Education standards, and Texas Education Agency guidelines. Design lesson plans incorporating both classroom instruction and hands-on welding lab activities. Prepare lessons that accommodate varying student learning styles and skill levels. Demonstrate welding techniques and supervise students during practical shop training. Utilize welding equipment, fabrication tools, and instructional technology to enhance learning. Collaborate with special education staff to modify curriculum for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Participate with faculty and CTE staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and instructional methods. Supervise teacher aides, volunteers, and students during welding lab activities.**Student Growth and Development** Monitor and evaluate student performance through both practical welding assessments and written evaluations. Provide feedback to help students improve welding technique, safety practices, and work habits. Encourage the development of professional work ethic, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Sponsor or support approved extracurricular activities such as welding competitions, CTE organizations, or skills-based events. Serve as a positive role model and mentor to students while supporting the districts educational mission.**Classroom and Shop Management** Maintain a safe, organized welding laboratory and classroom environment. Enforce safety standards and ensure students follow proper welding procedures and personal protective equipment requirements. Manage student behavior according to the district Student Co e of Conduct. Ensure proper care, maintenance, and storage of welding equipment and instructional materials. Assist with the selection and maintenance of welding tools, equipment, and educational resources.**Communication** Maintain open communication with parents, administrators, and colleagues regarding student progress and program activities. Foster professional relationships with community members, local industry partners, and workforce organizations. Present information clearly and effectively in both classroom and professional settings.**Professional Growth and Development**Participate in professional development and training related to welding technology and CTE instruction.Stay informed of current industry standards, welding technologies, and instructional best practices.Comply with all state, district, and campus policies and regulations.Maintain required records, reports, and documentation related to student performance and program operations.Attend faculty meetings and participate on campus committees as required.
