Job Summary Our client, a leading retail technology organization, is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join their Product Data Management (PDM) team. This team builds and supports the systems responsible for ingesting, validating, enriching, and publishing product data used across the organization's eCommerce platform and enterprise systems. The ideal candidate is a senior backend engineer with strong experience in Java, Python, and distributed systems who thrives in an agile, Extreme Programming (XP) environment centered around pair programming and Test-Driven Development (TDD).Contract DetailsContractLocation: Richfield, MNWork Arrangement: HybridCore ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and distributed systems supporting enterprise product data managementBuild RESTful APIs and services using Java, Python, Spring, and related technologiesPractice Test-Driven Development (TDD), pair programming, code reviews, and continuous refactoring in a collaborative Agile environmentDevelop software following Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) and Extreme Programming (XP) methodologiesBuild, validate, enrich, and publish product data consumed by internal systems and external vendor partnersCollaborate closely with teammates through daily pair rotations, technical discussions, and solution design sessionsContribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes while ensuring high-quality production-ready codeRequired Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)10+ years of software engineering experience with an emphasis on backend developmentStrong programming experience with Java and PythonHands-on experience with Apache Kafka or similar event streaming technologiesExperience building scalable, high-performance distributed systemsExperience developing RESTful services using Spring Framework and HTTP-based APIsStrong understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD), pair programming, and Agile software development practicesExperience with Git, automated testing, and modern CI/CD workflowsPreferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)Experience with Groovy and CockroachDBFamiliarity with ReactJS or other modern JavaScript frameworksExperience working with JSON, XML, and enterprise data transformationKnowledge of GitHub Actions and modern deployment automationExperience with scripting and automation using Python, Ruby, Perl, or shell scriptingUnderstanding of networking, security, DNS, firewalls, and load balancing conceptsExperience working in Extreme Programming (XP) environments with continuous delivery practicesKey Competencies & BehaviorsStrong communication skills with the confidence to provide honest, constructive feedbackCollaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a pair programming environmentAdaptable and open to team decisions while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented approachSelf-motivated with strong organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to translate business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteriaWork EnvironmentLocation: Richfield, MNWork Arrangement: Hybrid (approximately once per month onsite)Compensation & BenefitsPay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $68.00 and $80.00 per hour.
