Safety Advisor

Position: Construction Safety CoordinatorReports to: Safety Manager Location: New Albany, Ohio and surrounding areaVelocity Safety Advisors is looking for a Construction Safety Coordinator who is passionate about creating a safe, secure jobsite for every team member. In this role, you will help maintain safe conditions for people and property, support incident investigations, and assist with emergency response. This position is based on jobsites in New Albany, Ohio and the surrounding area.What You’ll DoWork closely across the jobsite with Field Operations and Project Operations team members, as well as the General Contractor and trade partnersHelp collect safety records following training sessionsDocument all injuries, incidents, and near missesReview and sign daily paperwork to confirm proper hazard identification and mitigation assessmentsMonitor large construction sites and help ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulationsComplete audits and daily reports that outline activities, findings, and issuesStay current on safety policies, trends, and evolving standards as new risks are identifiedParticipate in all jobsite safety meetingsWhat You’ll BringA strong commitment to safety and doing the job rightExcellent attention to detailStrong communication and interpersonal skillsConflict-resolution skills and the ability to stay calm under pressureGood judgment, confidentiality, and discretion when handling sensitive informationWhat We’re Looking ForRequired: At least 2 years of safety experience in construction, OR 5 years of field/project experience on a commercial construction site, OR a degree in Occupational Health and Safety (or completion of an apprenticeship program)Required: First Aid/CPR certificationRequired: Completion of the OSHA 30-hour construction training coursePreferred: A safety credential through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (for example, CHST), or active progress toward certificationPreferred: Experience in electrical construction
