Site Safety Manager – Data Center Construction New Albany, OhioAbout the ProjectISS is supporting safety operations for a large-scale hyperscale AI data center campus development in New Albany, Ohio. This project is a multi-building data center campus located within the New Albany International Business Park and is part of a major expansion of next-generation AI infrastructure.The campus is expected to span approximately 345–447 acres with more than 2.5 million square feet of planned data center infrastructure across multiple buildings. This role supports ongoing testing, auditing, and field safety oversight activities during the early stages of project execution.Position SummaryISS is seeking an experienced Site Safety Manager to support data center construction and commissioning activities in New Albany, OH. This individual will work closely with field leadership, subcontractors, and the General Contractor to maintain safe work practices and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory safety requirements.The ideal candidate is a hands-on safety professional with strong field presence, excellent communication skills, and a coach/mentor leadership style. This role will focus heavily on field engagement, auditing, training, incident management, and continuous safety improvement.ResponsibilitiesConduct new hire safety orientations and onboarding Perform daily site safety audits and field observations Manage and track PPE compliance and inventory Facilitate customer-required safety observations and monthly reporting Attend internal coordination meetings and contractor-led safety walks Coach and mentor field employees on safe work practices and hazard recognition Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns Coordinate medical response and care management for injured employees Support compliance with customer-specific safety programs and reporting systems Maintain accurate safety documentation using internal and customer reporting platforms Partner with project leadership to promote proactive safety culture initiatives Monitor low-voltage electrical installation activities and related field hazards Required Qualifications3–5 years of construction safety experience CHST certification required Experience supporting commercial construction, mission-critical, or data center projects preferred Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards Ability to conduct field audits, incident investigations, and safety coaching Comfortable working in fast-paced construction environments with multiple subcontractors Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to work independently while collaborating with project leadership teams Preferred ExperienceData center or hyperscale construction experience Electrical or low-voltage construction safety experience Experience interacting directly with owners, GCs, and customer safety teams Familiarity with digital safety reporting tools and field documentation systems Work Environment & ScheduleLocation: New Albany, OH Schedule: Approximately 60 hours/week, Monday–Saturday Duration: Estimated 1-year assignment Start Date: ASAP Field vs. Office: Approximately 67–75% field / 25–33% office Equipment & RequirementsISS client will provide:Hard hat Safety glasses Gloves High-visibility vest Computer and email access Consultant must provide:Over-the-ankle sturdy work boots Additional requirements:Pre-employment drug screening Customer-required background check Potential operation of side-by-side / utility vehicles onsite About ISSISS provides safety professionals and workforce solutions supporting mission-critical construction, infrastructure, energy, transportation, and industrial projects throughout the United States.
