Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse to float in a Medical-Surgical unit. The unit has a combined total of 61 beds. Patient ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. Common diagnoses include surgical patients (total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, general) and medical patients (CHF, CVA, SOB, diabetic issues). Registered Nurses are not required to titrate drips. There are no charge nurses or house supervisors on this unit. Ratios for patient care aides are 1:15. Equipment includes CPAP, BiPap, and high-flow devices. There is telemetry on this unit with monitor technicians. Registered Nurses will confirm rhythms read by the monitor technicians. Shifts require availability every other weekend and every other holiday. There is a call or standby requirement in place. Floating to different units is expected.
