Hospitalist Physician - Night Shift

Hospitalist - Float Pool Essentia Health is seeking exceptional hospitalists to join our System-Wide Float Pool, primarily traveling across the North Country and providing care “Close to Home.” Responsibilities Provide inpatient hospital medicine care across multiple hospitals, functioning as part of dedicated nocturnist teams. Accept short‑term respiratory support duties, including up to 24‑hour ventilator management in Virginia (training provided). Maintain patient charts and documentation using the Epic Electronic Medical Record system throughout the entire Essentia network. Follow a 7/7 schedule for 24 weeks per year, totaling 168 shifts per year (1.0 FTE). Travel to assigned primary locations with reimbursement for mileage, rental car, and lodging as needed. Qualifications Board‑certified in Internal Medicine with an active medical license. Strong team‑building skills and ability to address complex issues collaboratively. Prepared for flexible scheduling and the demands of a float pool environment.
