Google Platform Engineer

OverviewWe're partnering with a leading financial services client in NYC to hire a hands-on Google Platform Engineer. This role focuses on building, automating, and scaling a GCP environment that supports critical trading and transaction processing systems. Ideal candidates will bring strong cloud engineering experience along with an understanding of financial systems and data flows.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Support platforms tied to trading systems and transaction processing workflowsManage and optimize core GCP services including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, and BigQueryDevelop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar toolsBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable deploymentsMonitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availabilityPartner with security teams to enforce cloud best practices and compliance standardsCollaborate with engineering and data teams on platform enhancementsRequired Qualifications5+ years of experience in cloud or platform engineeringStrong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Experience with Kubernetes (GKE preferred) and containerized environmentsProficiency with Terraform or other IaC toolsExperience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar)Solid understanding of networking, IAM, and cloud securityPreferred QualificationsExperience working in financial services environmentsExposure to trading systems or transaction processing platforms strongly preferredExperience with data platforms such as BigQueryAI Engineering or AI/ML exposure is a plus (MLOps experience is a bonusAdditional Details12-month contract with potential for extensionHybrid role based in New York City
