Surgery - Surgical Director, Kidney Transplant Program

Loyola Medicine and Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine seek an exceptional transplant surgeon to serve asSurgical Director of the Kidney Transplant Programin the Department of Surgery. The ideal candidate will be a recognized leader with demonstrated accomplishments inclinical care, education, and academic scholarshipin kidney transplantation. The Kidney Transplant Program is a core component of Loyolas abdominal transplant services and includesliving and deceased donor kidney transplantation , robotic kidney transplantation, pancreas transplant and participation in theNational Kidney Registry.The program also includes collaboration with an affiliatedVA kidney transplant programproviding living donor services for veteran patients. The selected candidate will be committed to the continued growth, quality, and innovation of the kidney transplant program. Prior experience in leadership preferred. The Surgical Director provides leadership, direction, and oversight for all surgical aspects of kidney transplantation, including clinical operations, education, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance. Working closely with departmental and service line leadership, the Director supports strategic planning, faculty mentorship, clinical excellence, and readiness forCMS, OPTN, and UNOSreview. Candidates must have completed anASTS?approved fellowship or equivalent training , beBoard eligible or Board certifiedby the American Board of Surgery and be eligible forlicensure in the State of Illinoisat the time of hire. They should also meet the criteria for UNOS/OPTN primary surgeon qualifications. The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Associate Professor orProfessor. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
