GENERAL SUMMARYAt AM General our Manufacturing Systems Interns support the team with a working understanding of plant floor production systems, including MES, ERP, and PLC-controlled processes, while supporting day-to-day system activities and documentation. The intern will identify and propose at least one meaningful system or process improvement based on data analysis, observations, and stakeholder input. Through collaboration with production teams and exposure to SQL and basic programming, the intern will bridge academic concepts with real-world manufacturing system applications.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop working knowledge of plant floor systems (e.g., Solumina, ATS Inspect, SAP, PLC interfaces).Review system documentation and observe production workflows to understand system integration and usage.Analyze system usage to identify at least one opportunity for process or system improvement.Develop and present a formal improvement proposal, including problem statement and recommended solution.Analyze system usage to identify at least one opportunity for process or system improvement.Develop and present a formal improvement proposal, including problem statement and recommended solution.Analyze system usage to identify at least one opportunity for process or system improvement.Develop and present a formal improvement proposal, including problem statement and recommended solution.Analyze system usage to identify at least one opportunity for process or system improvement.Develop and present a formal improvement proposal, including problem statement and recommended solution.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSCurrently enrolled in an accredited college or university, with junior or senior standing preferredPursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.Ability to clearly and accurately document technical and quality-related information.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, production-focused environment.High level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
