Join us for the 2026-2027 school year!Prepare, cook, bake and serve a variety of foods in quantity at an assigned school site; assist in other food preparation duties as directed; maintain facilities in a clean and sanitary condition; train and provide work direction to others. Position Details Hours: 5 hours per day Contract Length: 179 days per year 170 student instructional days4 holidays5 extended days Contract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start dateEmployment StatusFull-time with benefitsEmployment Type: 10-month employee on the classified pay schedule Qualifications & RequirementsEducation:High school diploma or GEDDocumentation: Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.Compensation & Experience CreditSalary for the 2026-2027 school year will be based on Board approved salary schedule.2025-2026 Pay ScaleStarting Pay (Step 0): $15.03/hour Experienced Pay (Step 10): $17.94/hourWe value experience! Previous experience working with students, intervention systems, and small-group instruction is strongly desired. New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience.The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.Payroll Note: While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June. Salary Formula: Hours per day × Hourly rate = Daily rate Daily rate × Contracted days = Annual salary.
