Receptionist - Campus (BMHS)

Receptionist - Campus Performs administrative and clerical duties including various typing, filing, mail distribution, and related duties; greets and directs visitors, parents, students, and staff. Answers, screens and directs incoming phone calls. Uses various computer programs to maintain records, documents and reports.Answers phones, providing superior customer service, and forwards calls or takes messages, if necessary; makes call-backs whenever neededChecks phone system for messages and distributes to appropriate partiesGreets and assists or directs visitorsLocates and call students out of class upon request, collects applicable interview forms as required by lawAssigns and maintains records of parking lot stickers for students and faculty members (NA at MS)Prepares and distribute daily announcements to staff and teachers (Principal)Receives all forms and bus notes (Attendance Secretary)Signs out all students leaving early and signs in late arrivals (Attendance Secretary)Coordinates homework requests between teachers and studentsInstructs, directs and evaluates student aides, and keeps file on contractsOrders all office supplies and maintain records of completed and outstanding purchase ordersAbility to operate standard office equipmentKnowledge of phone systems and general office administrative operationsAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingAbility to do mathematical computationsAbility to maintain confidentialityProduce accurate work and complete assignments with minimal supervisionAbility to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situationsAbility to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents and community membersKnowledge of applicable Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policiesAbility to handle confrontation and conflict without an emotional responseHigh School diploma or equivalent1 year previous clerical or receptionist experience preferredExperience with modern phone systemsAny equivalent combination of training, education and experience that meets minimum requirementsCriminal justice/Fingerprint clearanceDemonstrated general proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Suite and job-specific computer programs.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
