Job Title: RN - PICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ALS, PALS Description: This is a contract position for a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The shift for this role is from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The unit is a pediatric-specific unit also handling intensive care needs. It consists of 19 beds, with 10 dedicated to pediatric intensive care and 9 for pediatric patients. The unit is staffed by a total of 27 personnel. Staffing includes 1 Charge Nurse and 3-4 Nurses on the night shift. The patient ratios are 1:2 in Pediatric Intensive Care, 1:3 in Intermediate Care, and 1:5 in Pediatrics. Equipment used in the unit includes Hillrom Beds, GC monitors, ICU Medical Plum 360 Pumps, and Medfusion syringe pumps. The facility uses Meditech as their electronic medical record system. Permanent positions are available in this unit. Candidates with pediatric experience are preferred. Candidates should have experience in Pediatric Intensive Care. Typical procedures performed include lumbar punctures, intubations, chest tube placements, and conscious sedation. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and a team player. Candidates should be open to constructive criticism and willing to grow professionally. The dress code requires galaxy blue scrubs.
