You’ll work from engineering documentation, assembly drawings, and work instructions, alongside experienced technicians and a team lead who are there to answer questions. On-the-job training is provided.This is bench and floor work in a manufacturing environment, not a desk job. Expect to be on your feet for a meaningful part of the day, lifting up to 50 lbs, and moving between harness build, cabling components into a test rack, and setting up test equipment as the day’s priorities change. If you want to be handed one task and left alone with it for a month, this isn’t that seat — demands here shift often and the team adjusts together.You don’t need to arrive IPC-A-620 certified, but you do need to have built harnesses and cable assemblies before and be able to read an engineering drawing without someone walking you through it. Work is built to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 2 standards. Because the equipment supports aerospace programs, this role is ITAR-restricted — applicants must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.A Typical DayPick up the day’s build packet with the team lead, pull materials, and work through cable and harness assemblies against the drawing — cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and dressing to Class 2. From there you might cable up components inside a test rack, assemble a test fixture, or set up test equipment to verify what you built. The shift ends with your bench and tooling squared away.What You’ll DoBuild cable assemblies and wire harnesses to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 2 standardsConnect component wires to circuits and route wiring between individual component leadsWork from circuit diagrams, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and written or verbal work instructionsAssemble test fixtures, and install and cable components within a test rackSet up and use a variety of test equipment to verify completed assembliesSupport printed circuit board (PCB) assembly work as neededWork closely with experienced technicians and a team lead, and adjust as priorities changeMaintain inventory, organization, and upkeep of company tools and job materialsKeep a clean, safe, and organized work area in an industrial manufacturing environmentWhat You NeedHands-on experience building wire harnesses and cable assembliesAble to read and work from engineering drawings and assembly documentationComfortable with soldering, crimping, and hand tools at the benchDetail oriented and organized — Class 2 work is checkedStrong verbal communication skills; this is a team floor, not a solo benchMechanical aptitudeAble to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for portions of the shiftU.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (ITAR requirement)Nice to HaveIPC-A-620 certificationExperience assembling printed circuit boards (PCBs)Prior work in aerospace, defense, or another regulated manufacturing environmentExperience building or cabling test racks, test fixtures, or test equipmentThis is a 3-month contract starting mid-September, with two openings on the same team.
