We value accountability, integrity, teamwork, and operational excellence in everything we do.We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced ABA Billing Specialist with strong knowledge of Illinois Medicaid, commercial insurance payors, Rethink Behavioral Health, and Tebra .Position SummaryThe ABA Billing Specialist is responsible for managing the full-cycle billing process, ensuring accurate claim submission, payment posting, denial management, and compliance with Medicaid and commercial payor requirements. This role works closely with Operations, Credentialing, and Clinical teams to maintain revenue integrity and reduce A/R.Key ResponsibilitiesInsurance & Claims ManagementSubmit and track electronic claims via Rethink Behavioral HealthSubmit commercial claims through TebraProcess Illinois Medicaid claims (including MCOs)Verify authorizations, units, and service codes (97151, 97153, 97155, 97156, etc.)Ensure claims align with treatment authorizations and session notesAccounts Receivable & DenialsMonitor aging reports and maintain A/R within company benchmarksInvestigate and resolve denials, rejections, and underpaymentsSubmit corrected claims and appeals as neededFollow up with payors regarding outstanding balancesPayment Posting & ReconciliationPost EFT, ERA, and manual payments accuratelyReconcile payments with billed units and authorizationsCoordinate with leadership regarding revenue trendsCompliance & DocumentationEnsure billing compliance with Medicaid and commercial guidelinesWork closely with clinical team to resolve documentation discrepanciesIdentify trends that may impact reimbursementMaintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standardsQualificationsMinimum 2+ years of ABA billing experience (required)Strong knowledge of Illinois Medicaid and commercial insuranceHands-on experience with:Rethink Behavioral HealthTebraKnowledge of CPT codes specific to ABA servicesExperience working with authorizations and unit trackingStrong Excel/Google Sheets skillsHigh attention to detail and ability to work independentlyPreferredExperience in pediatric behavioral healthFamiliarity with EVV requirementsUnderstanding of credentialing workflowsExperience working in a multi-site ABA organizationCompensationCompetitive hourly rate based on experienceFlexible work schedule (Hybrid or Remote options)Growth opportunity within a scaling organizationWhy Join Colorful Minds ABA?Collaborative leadership teamStructured processes and KPIsGrowing organization with advancement opportunitiesMission-driven culture focused on quality care
