Position OverviewThe Executive Director serves as the chief staff leader of the United States Croquet Association and works in close partnership with the Board of Directors to guide the organization’s operations, membership growth, and overall health.As USCA continues to evolve and strengthen its national presence, the creation of this Executive Director role reflects the Association’s commitment to thoughtful growth, professional management, and long-term sustainability. This position represents an important step forward in supporting our members, clubs, and programs with dedicated leadership.Board PartnershipThe Executive Director reports to a thoughtful and engaged Board of Directors that focuses on mission, strategy, and governance. The Board values clear communication, shared goals, and a collaborative working relationship built on trust and accountability.Core ResponsibilitiesOrganizational LeadershipImplement Board-approved priorities and annual plansSupervise staff and support volunteer leadersEnsure effective communication across programs and committeesOperations & Financial OversightOversee day-to-day operationsDevelop and manage the annual budget in coordination with the TreasurerEnsure accurate reporting and sound financial practicesMaintain core systems (membership, tournaments, communications)Membership & GrowthMonitor membership trends and support retention and recruitment effortsStrengthen relationships with clubs and regional leadersSupport initiatives that enhance member engagementGovernance & SupportProvide timely reports and materials to the BoardEnsure compliance with bylaws and nonprofit requirementsImplement Board decisions effectivelyRepresentation & PartnershipsRepresent USCA at key events and meetingsSupport sponsorship and partnership development effortsQualificationsSenior leadership experience in nonprofit, sports, or membership-based organizationsExperience managing budgets and teamsStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively with volunteers and a governing BoardWillingness to travel to major eventsPassion for sports and community-building is important.
